A teenager is due to appear in court after a serious assault at a Nottingham shopping precinct.
Officers were called to the Bridgeway Centre, The Meadows, around 5.25pm on Friday (19 July) after paramedics reported a man had been stabbed.
The victim was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers analysed CCTV footage of the incident and arrested a suspect a short time later.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Monday) charged with wounding with intent and possession of a knife in a public place.
Detective Constable Chantelle Rose, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a very serious incident and we understand it will have caused concern in the community.
“I hope people can at least take comfort from a robust police response which has seen this suspect arrested, charged and placed before the courts at the earliest opportunity.
