Man suffers fractured jaw after being attacked inside Newark pub

"This was a brutal attack. He was continually punched to the head and kicked whilst on the floor.

An 18-year-old man has been hospitalised after being attacked leaving him with a fractured jaw and cracked cheekbone.

Two other men were also assaulted and received injuries on Sunday morning following a report of a serious assault in Carter Gate, Newark.

Detective Sergeant Ricky Ellis is leading the investigation. He said: “The victim was on a night out with friends and family.

“At around 2am one of the group was beaten up inside Madisons public house, which spilled out onto the street outside.

“This was a brutal attack. He was continually punched to the head and kicked whilst on the floor.

“He is still in hospital, but thankfully his injuries aren’t believed to be life-altering or life-threatening.

“Two other men were also injured, but their injuries aren’t thought to be life-threatening.

“We are now appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident or have any information which will help with our investigations. If you can help please call 101, quoting incident number 274 of 23 August 2020.”
