It led to the arrest of a 27-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in custody. A knife was recovered at the scene.

Detective Sergeant Lee Cattell, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “A suspect was quickly arrested in connection with this assault.
“We will always respond quickly to serious incidents involving weapons and where there is an immediate threat to safety.
“We understand incidents such as this will be concerning for local residents and there will be a visible police presence in the area as officers carry out further enquiries and provide reassurance.
“While knife crime is reducing significantly in Nottinghamshire, every incident like this has the potential to be serious and can be incredibly distressing for the community.
“That is why we are committed to our continued reduction in knife crime, with two dedicated knife crime teams and an intensive programme of education in schools and community work with partners across Nottinghamshire.
“I would urge anyone who is concerned about someone they believe to carry a knife to contact the police so we can act quickly to take weapons off the streets – and the people who use them to cause harm – in our neighbourhoods.
“I would also ask anyone who witnessed this incident, or has any information that could help the enquiry, to get in touch.”
