Police arrested a suspect after officers came to the aid of a man attacked in the street.
The victim, a man aged in his 30s, was unconscious after being punched to the face during an incident in Wilford Street, Nottingham city centre, at 3.22am today (Sunday 1 May 2022).
A police team was quickly on scene and while an officer went to the victim’s aid and checked his injuries, colleagues managed to swiftly detain a suspect at 3.23am.
The victim regained consciousness a short time later and was taken to hospital with head injuries.
A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm.
Sergeant Laura McCullough, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thanks to the quick team work of the officers involved they were able to attend to the victim and make an arrest.
“This type of violent behaviour will never be tolerated on our streets, and as we have shown with this incident, we will always take swift and robust action against anyone who commits these sort of offences.”
