A man was taken to hospital for treatment of facial injuries after he was assaulted in West Bridgford.
Police quickly attended the scene at a house in Mabel Grove at around 3am this morning (Monday 26 April) after it was alleged that a man had been seriously injured in the attack.
Officers swiftly arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm at the scene and an investigation has now been launched to establish the circumstances.
The extent of the man’s injuries are not yet clear, however, they are not thought to be life-threatening.
Detective Sergeant Julian Eminson-Ferry, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a serious assault that has left a man hospitalised.
“Officers did an excellent job to respond quickly and make a swift arrest in connection with the incident and we are now working to establish what happened.
“It is believed that the people involved in this incident are known to each other and that this was an isolated attack – there is no wider risk to the public.
“That being said, we understand that this is worrying for local residents and I would ask that anyone with any concerns speaks to an officer on patrol or calls 101.
“I would also appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard something suspicious in connection with this incident reports it to Nottinghamshire Police immediately.”
