Police say that a suspect has been arrested after a man was robbed in a town centre square.
Police were called to Brook Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, after receiving reports that a man had been robbed.
The man is understood to have been attacked by another man and had his wallet taken in Low Street, Sutton in Ashfield.
He was taken to hospital with minor injuries following the incident, at around 7.50pm on Wednesday (20 April 2022).
A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Matt Dumbrell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We have taken swift action to arrest a suspect in connection with this robbery.
“Robbery is an extremely serious offence that can leave a lasting impact on people’s lives, which is why it is so important that we always respond quickly to every report that we receive.
“Our enquiries remain ongoing into this incident, so we’d ask anyone that witnessed what happened or has any information to please get in touch with us on 101, quoting incident number 708 of 20 April 2022.”
