Officers acted quickly to arrest a man last night after a report of a man being threatened at gunpoint in Bilborough.
Police were called to Flamsteed Road at around 9.10 pm after a report that a group of people had attended a house before pointing a what is thought to have been a gun at a resident and making threats.
After conducting initial inquiries into the incident, Police identified an address nearby thought to be linked to a man who was believed to connected to the incident.
When officers searched the address, they quickly arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life in connection with the incident.
Weapons, including several knives and a potential firearm, were also recovered from the property.
Detective Sergeant Jonathan Kerry, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Firearms offences are incredibly serious and we investigate all reports made to Nottinghamshire Police thoroughly. This was an isolated incident and the individuals involved are believed to be known to one another.
“We acted quickly to make an arrest and recover weapons as part of our investigation, we will now look to establish the circumstances around this incident.
“I’d ask that anyone who may have any information in connection with this incident to get in touch with Nottinghamshire Police as soon as possible via 101 quoting incident number 840 of 7 April 2020.”
