Man to appear in court over aggravated burglary

PUBLISHED:

A 31-year-old man is due to appear at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court today in connection with an aggravated burglary.

Two men with knives burst into the property in Philip Avenue, Newark, on 18 January, and caused slash wounds to a 49-year-old man and cuts to a 44-year-old woman. They both received hospital treatment but their injuries were not life-threatening or life-altering.

John Price, of Turner Lane, Boughton, Newark, was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident and has now been charged with aggravated burglary, causing grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article.

Joseph Lee, 21, of Bowbridge Lane, Balderton, was previously charged with aggravated burglary, causing grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article and appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on 24 January, where he was remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 22 February.
