Man walking his dog is knocked unconscious in Notts park robbery

Police are seeking the public’s help after a dog walker was knocked unconscious during a robbery in a Mansfield park.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, was approached by three males in Carr Bank Park, Windmill Lane, Mansfield.

The man was asked for a lighter before he was struck to the head, knocking him unconscious.

The offenders then took his mobile phone and belongings.

The robbery happened at around 6am yesterday (Monday 13 July 2020).

Detective Sergeant Mark Shaw, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are working hard to establish the circumstances of this incident and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened. Thankfully the victim wasn’t seriously injured.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would urge anyone who has any information to please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 126 of 13 July 2020.”
