A dog walker was threatened by a man brandishing a knife and reportedly said, ‘put your dog on a lead otherwise I’ll kill it’.
The victim rang the police straight away, but sadly when officers quickly attended they couldn’t find the man.
Officers are now appealing to anyone who can help with their enquiries.
Sergeant Matt Dumbrell is leading the investigation. He said: “This was quite a horrible incident, although thankfully no one was injured.
“We were called at around 16.40pm on Thursday to Old Mill Lane in Forest Town after a report of a man with a knife threatening a dog walker’s dog, before walking off.
“The man has been described as white, around 30-years-old, wearing an olive green waterproof on with his good up and a scarf around his face.
“If anyone can help with our enquiries please call 101, quoting incident number 682 of 1 October 2020.”
