Masked man robs woman of her laptop in broad daylight Rushcliffe incident

A woman had her laptop robbed in broad daylight by a man wearing a blue surgical mask.

The suspect initially approached the victim from behind to ask for money.

She declined before the man grabbed hold of her bag which fell to the floor. They both tried to pick it up but the suspect used significant force to wrestle the bag from her.

The man then ran from the scene with her possessions including an Apple laptop, bank card and documents.

The woman suffered bruising to her arm in the incident.

Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward to help with their enquiries.

Detective Constable Sean Parker, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This must have been terrifying for the victim who was walking home alone.

“We believe people will have seen the woman struggle to hold onto her bag, before it was ripped from her grasp by a man.

“The incident happened around 2.30pm on 6 June 2021 at the Station Road, College Road and Melton Road junction in Sutton Bonington.

“If anyone was in the area at the time or if any drivers have any dashcam footage of any passing cars please contact police.

“We are particularly keen to hear from a Mini driver who we believe passed the incident and might have some crucial information.

“If you have any details please call 101, quoting crime occurrence 21000316668, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
