Two masked suspects are reported to have ridden a motorbike onto a Notts park and assaulted a man.
Police were called to the recreational grounds near School Street and Wellbeck Street in Kirkby-in-Ashfield after a man had suffered head injuries in the attack.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment and a police investigation has been launched to find those responsible.
He is expected to make a full recovery, however, the officer leading the case has explained the consequences could have been far more serious.
Two suspects are thought to have arrived at the scene riding one motorbike wearing masks when they hit the man at around 3pm on Sunday 18 April 2021.
Police Constable Thomas Burton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a vicious attack that left a man in hospital.
“While the victim was not seriously injured, assaults are incredibly dangerous and there is always the potential for a far more serious outcome.
“I am now appealing to anyone who may have seen something in the area at the time to report it to police as soon as possible.”
