Nottingham Forest head to the capital to take on Charlton Athletic as their busy August schedule continues at The Valley (kick-off 7.45pm).

The Reds picked up their first victory of the league season on Saturday with a convincing display against Birmingham and will be hoping to follow it up with a positive result on the road.

Charlton have enjoyed their start to life back in the second tier, picking up seven points from their opening three games.

  • Both Charlton and Forest have scored three goals from set-pieces so far this season, the joint most in the competition in 2019-20
  • Charlton Athletic are unbeaten in their past six league games against Forest, winning two and drawing four

Joao Carvalho has travelled with the squad to London but will not be involved as he steps up his recovery from injury.

Sabri Lamouchi may be tempted into changes with a busy schedule ahead, but the impressive nature of the victory over Birmingham on Saturday may mean an unchanged 11.

Oliver Langford will be the man in the middle for tonight’s game, his fourth match of the season. He took charge of three Forest games last season with mixed fortunes for The Reds.

He oversaw the 0-0 draw with Stoke at The City Ground, the 2-0 defeat at Reading and the 1-0 victory over Bolton on the final day of the season.
