Police investigating a fatal shooting have now charged a suspect with murder.
Emergency services were called to a property in Ryeland Gardens, The Meadows, Nottingham, shortly after 5.30am on Saturday (28 February).
A 24-year-old man – who can now be named as Coel Tainton – sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics but died a short time later.
Police recovered a shotgun within minutes of attending the scene.
Jack Preston, 34, was arrested on Saturday and was subsequently charged with murder, assault by beating of an emergency worker and a public order offence tonight (Tuesday 3 March).
Preston of Ryeland Gardens, remains in custody and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today. (4 March).

Detective Inspector Clare Gibson, senior investigating officer, said:
“As we announce these charges today, our thoughts firmly remain with Coel’s family and friends.”
“Specially trained officers are providing them with support, and this will continue.
“Our team of investigators and specialist officers have worked extremely hard over the past few days to determine the full circumstances of what happened, and I am pleased we have now been able to charge a suspect in this case.”
