On Saturday morning in Keyworth, a 65 year old male became ill and collapsed with a suspected heart attack.
Police in Rushcliffe said:
Swift action by several members of the public, calling the emergency services and administering CPR undoubtedly saved this gentleman’s life.
‘Professional medical assistance arrived and took over his treatment and he was able to sit up and talk as he was taken to hospital in the ambulance.
‘We are unable to give any further update upon this gentleman’s condition, but would like to thank everyone involved.’
If you find yourself in this position it is vital to start CPR immediately and obtain a DEFIBRILLATOR as soon as possible, advice regarding the nearest and how to access it can be obtained by calling 999, they are very simple to use and come with full instructions, most units do this verbally and talk you through the process.
