Message to residents from Nottingham Public Health Director ahead of Bank Holiday and Weekend and 21 June

David Johns, Interim Public Health Director for Nottingham city gives his view on the Covid situation.

David said:

‘I want Nottingham to be reopened on 21 June and at the moment our rates are lower than the England average, city rates are 20 cases per 100,000 residents for the week against an England figures of over 23 cases. We have a low case rates in the over 60s.

‘We are in a strong position, I want people to enjoy themselves and enjoy relaxation and what looks like a fine Bank Holiday weekend.

‘But people can’t be complacent – a note of caution –  over the Bank Holiday weekend and  Half-Term, people should remember Hands Face Space and make sure they get vaccinated where relevant.

‘I would also urge families with school-age children to continue to get tested twice per week.
