Mick Sharman appointed as new Nottinghamshire Assistant Chief Fire Officer

Today (Friday 15 December) the Nottinghamshire and City of Nottingham Fire Authority has approved a recommendation to appoint Mick Sharman as Assistant Chief Fire Officer for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The recommendation was made by the Combined Fire Authority’s Appointments Committee earlier this month, following a competitive selection process.

Mick, who has been serving in a temporary Assistant Chief Fire Officer role working across both Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Services on some key strategic collaboration projects, will officially take up his new substantive post on 15 January 2024.

Mick’s appointment follows on from the retirement of the service’s current Assistant Chief Fire Officer, Candida Brudenell, who was appointed in July 2020 after a long and successful career at Nottingham City Council.
