More overnight road closures in July at Gamston roundabout for A52 works

National Highways announces more closures at Gamston.

National Highways said:

‘We’re making good progress with our junction improvements on the A52 at Gamston roundabout, which we expect to be completed on schedule by the end of January 2023. We need to put in place a short series of night-time full road and lane closures at the end of July and in early August 2022, so we can move into the next phase of work.

‘The closures are necessary so we can switch over our traffic management and move the concrete barriers safely. This will enable us to start Phase 3 of the junction improvement scheme at Gamston in mid-August 2022. The traffic management for Phase 3 will remain in place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until early December 2022. Once again, we’re grateful for your patience and co-operation during this period.

The first closures will be on the nights of Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 July 2022. .

The closures will be in force from the following points around the Gamston roundabout, illustrated in red on the map below:

Heading east, on the A6011 Radcliffe Road at its junction with Ambleside.
Heading north on the A52 Lings Bar Road, from the Tollerton Lane junction onwards.
Heading west on the A52 Radcliffe Road, from the Stragglethorpe Road junction onwards.
The closure will begin at 8pm each evening and the carriageway will be re-opened by 6am the following morning at the latest. We’ll put out advanced warning signs on the road ahead of all road closures.
