Motorcyclist, 21, dies after collision at BP Garage on the A1

A 21-year-old man has sadly died following a collision just off the A1, at Colsterworth.

Following a call received at 10.35 am yesterday (Monday 24 June), police officers attended the BP garage. A motorcyclist is believed to have left the main road, travelled down the slip road and then collided with one of the petrol pumps.

The rider, from the Durham area, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Police in Lincolnshire said:

‘Emergency services attended and the road was partially blocked until around 1 pm.

‘The BP garage was closed for the remainder of the day and was due to be re-opened today.

‘We are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact us.’
