A motorcyclist has died after he was involved in a serious collision on the A606 Melton Road in Langham yesterday morning (Sunday 2 March).
The collision took place around 10am and involved a black Nissan Terrano and a Piaggio PX motorcycle. The motorcyclist was travelling north and the car was travelling south.
The motorcycle rider, a man in his 50s, was seriously injured and sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. The pillion passenger – a woman in her 50s – was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. Her injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.
The driver of the car, a man in his 80s, was not injured.
Road closures were in place while emergency services dealt with the incident but these have since been lifted.
Officers investigating the collision are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area yesterday morning and witnessed what happened. They would also like to speak to anyone who may have captured dashcam footage.
