The M1 motorway which was closed for a police incident between junctions 20 and 21 has now fully reopened.
A 59-year-old man, the lorry driver who is Hungarian, has been arrested on suspicion of immigration offences.
Leicestershire Police said:
“We stopped a lorry on the northbound carriageway of the M1 just before 9.50am following concerns about the welfare of people in the vehicle.
A spokesperson for East Midlands Ambulance Service who also attended said:
‘A spokeswoman for EMAS said: “We received a call at 10.14am on February 19 from our colleagues in the police force requesting medical assistance at an incident on the M1 Northbound between Junction 20 and Junction 21.
“We sent a doctor in a car, two crewed ambulances, a paramedic in car and the air ambulance.”
