A suspect has appeared in court charged with murder after a fatal stabbing.
Brenton Marriott, 58, was taken to hospital where he later died after suffering stab wounds during an incident at an address in Cloister Street, Lenton.
Police were called to the scene at 11.09am on Friday (5 August 2022) and a man was arrested in connection with the assault.
Mr Marriott’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
Rudi Marriott, aged 28, of Cloister Street, Lenton, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 8 August 2022) charged with murder.
He was remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday (10 August 2022).
Detective Inspector Clare Gibson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Marriott’s family and we would urge for their privacy to be respected at this exceptionally difficult time.
“Understandably his death has affected many people and shocked the community. We will continue to maintain a policing presence in the area and if anyone has any concerns we’d encourage them to speak to one of our officers.”
