Murder investigation: Two more arrests after woman dies in ‘tragic isolated incident’ in Notts

Two further people have been arrested in connection with the death of a 32-year-old woman.

Police were called to Alfreton Road in Selston at 6.23 pm on Saturday 25 July to reports of a crash involving a van and a woman.

Five people were arrested in connection with the incident on Saturday evening.

Yesterday, a 37-year-old man and 17-year-old boy were arrested.

Detective Inspector Richard Monk, who is leading the investigation, said: “We have made a number of arrests in connection with the events that led to the death of a 32-year-old woman.

“This was an incredibly serious incident and we continue to explore a number of lines of enquiry as part of our investigation.

“While we have made arrests, our investigation is still very much ongoing and we are still looking for anyone who may know something to come forward.

“I’d like to thank those who have come to us with information on the incident so far and would encourage anyone who may have any further knowledge of the incident to speak with us as soon as possible.”

Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Mark Dickson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Detectives have acted incredibly quickly to make several arrests in connection with this incident.

“This is was an incredibly tragic isolated incident but we are working closely with the community to address any concerns they may have and we have an increased police presence in the area to reassure the public.

“Please speak to our officers if you have any concerns – we will do everything we can to help.”

Three people arrested who were arrested on Saturday evening have been released on bail.

Four people remain in police custody for questioning.
