New affordable addiction recovery therapy group for Nottingham

Set up by West Bridgford-based Andrew Harvey, a former Priory addictions therapist the group is for anyone seeking to achieve and / or maintain abstinence from addictive substances or behaviours.

Andrew said “my aim for some time has been to set up something affordable and sustainable and, I hope this is it. My private one to one practice is often at capacity, seeing addiction and non-addiction clients, the need for quality, professional therapy for clients with addictions are appears to be ever increasing”.

The group will be a weekly, evening, ongoing small group that people can join and leave when they feel ready. The main objective of the group is to help people achieve and maintain ongoing abstinence from addiction, living lives no longer negatively affected by addiction.

Andrew also sees a bigger picture “I have already had interests from other local organisations in the project and see an opportunity for both private, charity and NHS funded organisations to work together, offering increased choice and increased access to these types of groups”.

The evidence base for clients finding these types of groups helpful in achieving recovery is good, and it’s something people can integrate with any other support they are receiving.
