New Currents Festival – a free one-day music festival – is heading to Nottingham on Sunday 5 May.
With the tagline ‘Freshly squeezed and locally sourced’, the event will feature some of the hottest artists from the East Midlands. Organised and delivered by Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies and Trent Navigation Inn, festival-goers can expect DJ sets, live performances and lots more!
Running from 1pm – 10pm, the event will take place at The Big Shed at Trent Navigation Inn on Meadow Lane, Nottingham; an outdoor space with undercover seating and dedicated bars serving a wide range drinks and food.
Although entry is free, booking is essential via ticketsources.
All money raised on the day will be donated to Emmanuel House; a local, independent charity, established to battle against homelessness in Nottingham.
Sam Bennett, festival co-organiser, and senior lecturer at Confetti said:
“We’ve got a jam-packed line-up for the perfect Bank Holiday festival! Lots of planning and organising has gone into this event so we’re calling on the good people of Nottingham to come out in their droves, enjoy some great live music at a brilliant venue, and raise some much-needed funds for Emmanuel House.”
Rosie Needham-Smith said:
“We’re really grateful to everyone at Confetti for choosing to support Emmanuel House. All funds raised from the festival will be used to support people experiencing homelessness in Nottingham.
“Our drop-in sessions meet people’s basic human needs by providing emotional support, breakfast, lunch, hot drinks, warm showers, clean clothes, toiletries, sleeping bags and tents, as well as specialist advice to do with housing and benefits.”
