The ticket will be valid at weekends as well as during the May, summer and October half terms and will give families and groups a chance to explore Nottinghamshire, including green spaces.

Councillor Neil Clarke MBE, Cabinet Member for Transport and Environment at Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “Thanks to the launch of the five for five-pound ticket, heading out and about during half term will be more accessible and affordable on some of our Nottsbus Connect services.

“We’ve seen glimpses of the warmer weather over the last few weeks and my hope is that the sun will be shining this May half term to allow families all across Nottinghamshire to get out and explore areas they may not have done so before.

This new ticket will allow groups of up to two adults and three children to explore some of the finer sights that Nottinghamshire has on offer that they may not have seen before like Cotgrave Country Park, the Attenborough Nature Reserve, Bestwood Country Park, Berry Hill Park, Kings Park and Brierley Forest Park.

“Of course, it’s not just about parks and green spaces – many of our Nottsbus Connect services connect into town centres across the county so there has never been a better time to catch the bus for leisure.

“It’s not just families with children who can use the ticket. Two adults can purchase the ticket as a group, giving them unlimited travel on the included services all day.

“By catching the bus, you are not just saving money, but you are also helping to reduce traffic on our roads and to create a cleaner and greener environment.”
