Discount grocery retailer Heron Foods is set to open a new outlet in the Aspley area of Nottingham next week. The neighbourhood store, which sells top-quality, branded foods, drinks and household products at the lowest prices, will be located in the former Morrisons Local store in Melbourne Road and will be open on Monday 29th April.
To celebrate its arrival, Heron Foods will be giving away a goodie bag (worth over £5) to the first 100 customers to spend £5 in store on opening day.
A representative from the Salvation Army Church in Aspley will be opening the store on 29th April and will be presented with a cheque for £250 as a donation from Heron Foods.
Ali Zeeshan, Store Manager at the new Heron Foods store in Aspley, said:
“Heron Foods has established an excellent reputation in the Nottingham area, so it’s fantastic that another store is opening here in Aspley. I studied business at Bluecoat Aspley Academy, so it’s a great achievement to now run a store in the community I grew up in. Not only will it be a convenient grocery store to serve the Aspley community, but we are also boosting local employment, with the creation of 16 jobs. I’m confident our new store will be a success.”
To mark its opening, the store will also be running a competition for budding artists at Ambleside Primary School and St Teresas Catholic Primary School. Students of all ages are being invited to submit a drawing of their favourite foods on an A4 sheet of paper, along with their name and school. The winning design will be displayed in the store’s window. Entries must be brought into the store by the closing date on Friday 17th May.
The winning artist will not only have their drawing displayed in the front window of Heron Foods in Aspley, but they will be presented with £50 worth of Heron Foods vouchers. Two runners-up will be presented with £10 of Heron Foods vouchers.
The Heron Foods Aspley store will be open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm, and Sunday, 9am to 5pm.
