Musters Medical Practice is introducing a new GP appointment booking system to make things easier and more convenient for patients.
The practice on Wilford Lane in West Bridgford will be launching the Rapid Health triage system on 28th April 2025.
It is designed to eliminate the 8 am phone rush, long phone queues and difficulty in booking appropriate GP appointments.
The new system requires patients or carers to fill in a simple online form via the Musters Medical Practice website, which takes on average four minutes to complete.
At the end, patients will be offered the most appropriate appointment or advice. This may be on-the-day appointments, a call back from a GP or other health professional, a future appointment, or advised to seek more urgent care. If available, these appointments will include a choice of which GP to see. These will be confirmed by email.
Patients without internet access can still ring the practice, where a member of the reception team will complete the online form for them over the phone.
Patients who are requesting an urgent home visit or have palliative care concerns should still call the practice to discuss any worries with a member of the reception team.
The Rapid Health platform is an NHS-approved triage tool and has already been introduced at two local practices where patients have found accessing appointments much easier and quicker than the traditional method.
Initially it was planned that the system at Musters Medical Practice would only be available for patients over 16, but it has now been decided by the practice that it can be used for all ages. All online forms for patients under the age of 16 will be reviewed by the on-call doctor on the day of submission, followed by an email link to book the appointment.
To be offered an appointment, it is essential for patients to provide the practice with a verified email address. All Musters Medical Practice patients should have received a text message asking them to reply with an email address.
The practice is urging patients to reply to this message or email the practice on nnicb-nn.c84090triage@nhs.net with an up-to-date email address before 28th April.
Please see the practice website for more information about the new system and for a list of frequently asked questions Rapid Health at Musters Medical Practice. There are also drop-in sessions available at the practice, weekdays from 9am to 11am and 2pm to 3pm when members of the Patient Participation Group will be able to demonstrate how the new system works.
