A new Human Resources service is launching in West Bridgford to help small business owners get clued up on the employment policies and procedures they need to protect themselves and their staff.
LadyBayHR is the new business venture set up by Pam Cannell, working with local companies in the surrounding area that employ less than 50 people, to keep them on track with any work-related issues.
Pam said: “Many bosses don’t realise that even if they employ just one person, without the correct HR policies and practices in place, they could lose time, staff and money.”
LadyBay HR aims to support small businesses with everything from start-up employment packages to staff disputes, manager training and flexible working requests.
Pam added: “I have worked with many small business owners and often they just need some advice and support to ensure they’re doing what they should be from a HR perspective; for example making sure that every employee has a written contract, statutory sick pay and protection from discrimination.
“My aim is to help these businesses grow by ensuring they have all the information they need to successfully employ people, which in the long run, will save them time and money and ensure their company is a place people want to work. After all, companies with an engaged and happy workforce, far outperform those that don’t.”
Pam set up LadyBay HR following many years’ experience working with a vast array of businesses, from international blue-chip companies such as BUPA, Experian, Capital One and Babcock, to supporting the rapid growth of start-ups.
She said: “If you run a shop, a bar, an office or a surgery, it’s vital that you look after your staff and protect your own interests as a business owner.”
