New image shared by police after bag snatched at Nottingham shoe store

Police investigating the theft of a bag have released an image of a second person they would like to trace.

The bag, containing house keys, a bank card and cash, was stolen from a customer as she shopped inside Footasylum, in Clumber Street, Nottingham on 6 December last year.

An opportunist thief snatched the bag after it was placed down by the customer as she tried on a coat.

Weeks later, officers released an image of a woman they wanted to trace, as it was believed she may have been able to assist the investigation.

The woman came forward and officers are satisfied she played no part in the theft.

Following further inquiries, we are now keen to trace a second person (pictured) and are asking them to come forward.

Sergeant Jono Pothecary, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We would like to thank the woman pictured in the previous media appeal for coming forward and wish to make it clear that she is not a suspect in this case.

“We have issued this new media appeal today to also try to identify the person pictured who we hope will be able to assist us further with this investigation.”

If you recognise the person in the image, please call 101 quoting incident 447 of 6 December 2024.
