Plans have been approved to help transform an area next to a Nottingham bar into a new courtyard space.
Nottingham City Council granted permission on Thursday, June 18, for works including a new mural on the side of a former office building and the installation of railings forming part of the entrance to the courtyard beside the Magic Garden bar.
Drawings submitted with the plans show the proposed courtyard with hanging lights, separate food tents and new signage.
The mural would be painted on the wall of the former office block directly next to the planned entrance. Existing signage elsewhere on the building is also set to be removed as part of the changes.
Approving the plans, a council officer said it was “positive to see the site being re-used” and added that the works needed to support the new use were “generally small in scale” and would not harm the character or appearance of the area.
The proposals are intended to support the reuse of the site and create a more defined entrance to the new outdoor space.
