Police arrested a suspected drug dealer and found a large amount of cocaine and a knife when they searched a car.
Officers acted on intelligence to pull over the vehicle in Jericho Road, Balderton, near Newark, at around 5 p.m. on Wednesday (11 October).
Members of the force’s county knife crime team immediately spotted a small bag of white powder within the vehicle.
A search recovered larger quantities of cocaine in deal bags. Officers also seized a knife and mobile phone after searching the driver of the vehicle.
A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of a knife in a public place.
Sergeant Jonny Groves, of Nottinghamshire Police’s county knife crime team, said:
“Taking knives and other offensive weapons off the streets is our team’s main goal when we leave the station to go out on patrol on the county’s roads.
“Possession of weapons is often linked to the illegal trade in Class A drugs and our work regularly sees us seizing drugs, taking them off the streets and destroying them.
“Our investigation into this incident remains ongoing and anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 23000633274, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
