Police have arrested nine men following a fight which spread out on to the city streets.
Officers were called to reports of disorder after a number of men were refused entry to a bar in Broadway, Nottingham at around 7.50pm yesterday (Sunday 2 May 2021).
It’s reported that chairs, bottles and tables were thrown and a number of people were injured.
The men remain in custody on suspicion of public order offences while enquiries continue.
Detective Sergeant Nigel Malik who’s leading the investigation, said: “Officers were at the scene within minutes and were able to make a number of arrests whilst carrying out quick enquiries and securing any available evidence.
“In an age of CCTV and mobile phone footage, people are likely to get captured and they will be pursued by Nottinghamshire Police.
“There were a lot of people out at the time enjoying themselves peacefully, and I would ask anyone with footage of the incident or information that could assist to get in touch with us.
“It’s absolutely disgraceful to behave violently and we are keeping a close eye on this sort of disorder as pubs and clubs have only just reopened.
“We want people to feel safe when out on the streets and witnessing a fight of this scale can be really intimidating.
“We won’t tolerate this mindless and violent behavior in Nottinghamshire and feel fortunate that no one was seriously injured.”
The investigation is ongoing while the men remain in custody.
