The Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps makes an announcement in the Commons about international travel.
Mr Shapps said: ‘I can confirm today, that from the 19 July, UK residents who are fully vaccinated through the UK Vaccination rollout will no longer have to self-isolate when they return to England.
‘They’ll still be required to take a test three days before returning, the pre-departure test, demonstrating they’re negative before they travel. They will need to take a PCR test before Day 2 – but they will no longer be required to take a Day 8 test, in essence, this means that for fully-vaccinated travellers requirements for Green and Amber list countries are the same.
‘To be clear, full vaccination means that 14 days have passed since you had the final dose of the vaccine.’
