There is a points failure near Grantham between Nottingham and Grantham disrupting trains on the Liverpool/Nottingham / Norwich and Nottingham/Grantham routes.
Line closed Grantham – Nottingham
Line open Nottingham – Grantham
Network Rail are waiting for staff to carry out an inspection of the points to assess whether a repair can be undertaken.
For safety reasons the points are not able to be used until they have been inspected. They are expected to arrive for 1200.
How does this affect my train?
Trains running through the area in the Grantham direction towards Norwich are able to run normally between Nottingham & Grantham.
Trains running through the area in the Grantham direction that terminate at Grantham are unable to run because they can not return from Grantham back to Nottingham.
Trains running through the area in the Nottingham direction are not able to run and will be diverted .
Trains on our Norwich/Nottingham/Liverpool route are able to run but will be diverted where possible using an alternative route. They will be unable to stop at Grantham. This diversion is not expected to extend any journey times between Peterborough and Nottingham.
At present the estimate to have the line reopened is 1230. As soon as the problem is fixed our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again.
