No trains on some Nottingham routes – animal on the track

An animal on the track is causing disruption.

East Midlands Railways said:

‘There is an animal back on the railway earlier near Newark Northgate disrupting our trains on the Grimsby/Lincoln/Nottingham/Leicester, Lincoln/Newark, Crewe/Derby/Newark, Doncaster/Lincoln/Peterborough routes and Nottingham/Skegness route.

‘Network Rail have requested British Transport Police to attend. There is no estimate of their arrival.

How does this affect my train?

‘Trains running through the area in both directions cannot run between Newark and Lincoln.

‘Some trains continue to be disrupted between Newark Castle, Derby and Nottingham.

‘Some trains continue to be disrupted between Doncaster, Lincoln and Peterborough.
Now the animal has been removed our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. The disruption caused has displaced our train and train crews meaning some trains are subject to late notice alterations and cancellations.’
