Nottingham bus diversions and stop closures next week

Nottingham bus passengers face diversions and stop closures during roadworks.

Passengers using services across Nottingham, Gamston, Lady Bay and Wollaton are being advised to check their journeys as several road closures and continuing works affect routes during the week ahead.

A series of road closures and continuing works will affect Nottingham City Transport services during the week beginning Monday 27 July.

Overnight works on the A52 Derby Road will see Orange 35, 35B and 36 diverted in both directions between the QMC and Priory roundabouts on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 July.

The road will be closed from 20:00 until 06:00 each night while the final work on the route is completed.

Services travelling towards Bulwell or Chilwell will serve the QMC as normal before diverting along Clifton Boulevard, Beeston Road and University Boulevard. The 36 will then turn into Broadgate, while the 35 and 35B will continue towards Woodside Road.

City-bound services will use Woodside Road or Broadgate, University Boulevard, Beeston Road and Clifton Boulevard before returning to their normal routes at the QMC.

In Gamston, Beckside will close from approximately 08:00 until 16:00 on Wednesday 29 July for repair work.

Green 6 will be unable to serve Beckside, Lings Bar Hospital or Morrisons during the closure. Buses will instead start and finish at Wellin Lane in Edwalton.

Several longer-term diversions will also remain in operation.

Works on Trent Boulevard are affecting Green 11 and 11C services and are expected to continue until 28 August. Buses are diverting using Radcliffe Road, Regatta Way and Adbolton Lane, with stops along Radcliffe Road served as part of the alternative route.

Pink 30 services remain diverted because of roadworks on Bramcote Lane in Wollaton. Buses are running via Russell Drive, Trowell Road and Wollaton Vale, and stops outside Wollaton Park cannot be served. Passengers have been advised to use stops near The Wheelhouse or in Wollaton village.

At Nottingham City Hospital, Linden Way remains closed to all traffic until further notice. Blue 40A services are entering the hospital through Gate 4 and terminating at the Radiotherapy stop on North Road. The Purple Car Park and Yellow Car Park stops cannot be served.

Passengers using Pathfinder 26 are also being given advance notice of work at Lowdham Roundabout. Nottingham City Transport’s latest information says the work connected with the A6097/A614 improvement scheme is expected to begin on 10 August and continue for approximately 13 months. Delays and some road closures are expected during the project.

Separate resurfacing work had been planned on Mansfield Road between Goose Fair Island and Forest Road East from Monday 27 July. The proposed overnight closures would affect services 15, 16, 17, 56, 58, 59, 68, 69 and 69A, 70 and 70B, 71 and 71B, 87, 88, 89 and 89A.

However, Transport Nottingham announced on 24 July that the work had been delayed and said revised dates would be issued. Nottingham City Transport was still displaying the original diversion dates at the time of publication, so passengers are advised to check the operator’s service updates before travelling.
