Nottingham Carnival will return to Victoria Embankment this month for a celebration of Caribbean music, food, dance and culture.
The event will take place from 13:00 until 20:00 on Sunday 16 August, with Jamaican reggae singer Duane Stephenson headlining the entertainment.
One of the day’s main attractions will be the carnival parade, which is expected to feature more than 500 performers wearing spectacular feathered costumes.
The parade will run from 14:00 until 16:00 and will be free for spectators to watch.
Nottingham Carnival Village will also feature live music, sound systems and guest DJs, alongside stalls serving authentic Caribbean food and drink and sweet treats.
Independent traders, charities and clothing stalls will be present, while family fairground rides and other family-friendly activities will run throughout the day.
Organisers have emphasised that people from all backgrounds are welcome to attend the annual celebration.
They said: “Nottingham Carnival is, and always has been, about celebrating Caribbean culture while bringing communities together.
“Whether you’re Caribbean, African, Asian, White, Mixed Heritage, Latin American or from any other background, we invite you to come with respect, celebrate the culture, support local businesses, enjoy incredible music, food and dance, and experience one of Nottingham’s most vibrant cultural events.
“Don’t let social media negativity stop you from experiencing something special. Carnival is about unity, joy, freedom, creativity and community.”
Nottingham Carnival 2026 takes place at Victoria Embankment, Nottingham, NG2 2JY, from 13:00 until 20:00 on Sunday 16 August.
