Nottingham Castle Leonardo Da Vinci Exhibition Needs Volunteers

Over summer 2016 Nottingham Castle will host the exhibition, “Leonardo Da Vinci: 10 drawings from the Royal Collection”.


The exhibition will show works that illustrate a wide range of the artists’ interests, from painting and sculpture to engineering, zoology, botany, mapmaking and anatomy.

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic faces to play a vital role in welcoming and supporting visitors, assisting with the exhibition talks and events programme, and engaging with visitors in the Leonardo project lab space. This is an excellent opportunity for those with and interest in art, Leonardo Da Vinci, or for those looking to gain experience of working with visitors.
Where: Nottingham Castle, Leonardo Da Vinci Project Lab and Gallery.
When: Shifts available every Saturday, Sunday 10.30 – 4.30pm and every day during school holidays.
Commitment: We are flexible about how much time you give us, but ideally you will be able to offer at least 4 full days. As a volunteer you would also be invited to the Preview Night July 29th 6-8pm.

We are holding several information days where you can learn more about the exhibition and role on Tuesday 19th July 3-4.30 and Tuesday 26th July 3-4.30 at Nottingham Castle. Booking is essential.

About Nottingham City Museum, Galleries and Collection

We provide a range of accessible museums and galleries which inspire, inform and entertain visitors. We also provide a range of activities, on and off the museum premises, which target users and current non-users of the service. • Good communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for history and heritage and family learning.
• Ability to work in a team with volunteers and site staff.

Practical Considerations
We cover reasonable travel expenses (up to £6 day). Volunteers get free refreshments whilst volunteering and a uniform to wear.
