Nottingham drugs raid based on community feedback leads to charge

A Nottingham drugs raid in response to community feedback has led to a charge.

Officers carried out a warrant in St Ann’s yesterday (8 October) as part of Operation Reacher, a new resource to tackle the issues which matter to the community.

The warrant was the fifth in four days in the area.

Tyriec Wilson, 19, has been charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs. He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (9 October).

The enforcement action was part of the roll out of Operation Reacher, which is introducing new teams of officers to all 12 neighbourhood policing areas across the county, and is designed to react dynamically to community concerns.

Detective Sergeant Lee Cattell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Nottinghamshire Police is committed to targeting resources in the areas where they will make the most impact to our communities.

“That is what Operation Reacher is all about and I’m glad that we can show local people we are taking action on the things which matter to them.”
