With the international break well and truly here, there was a victory away from the City Ground pitch on as Nottingham Forest Community Trust brought home the Community Impact award at this year’s East Midlands Chamber Business Awards.
The East Midlands Chamber Business Awards is one of the showpiece events in the regional business calendar, recognising and promoting the best of Nottinghamshire’s businesses and is a celebration of success, determination, and hard work.
The Community Impact award acknowledges businesses, charities and social enterprises that have developed and implemented Corporate Social Responsibility policies as part of their overall business planning.
Nottingham Forest Community Trust was shortlisted earlier this year by a panel of judges and was up against Express Recruitment and From The Heart.
The award comes on the back of the most successful year in the Trust’s history having delivered over 32,834 hours of community support and engaged 19,460 individuals from across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire in 2021.
The award criteria also included companies’ impact on the local community where the Trust played a big part in tackling holiday hunger by being appointed Nottingham City Council’s lead partner for the Holiday Activity & Food programme which pledges to provide local children with free activities and healthy meals during the school holidays.
Speaking about the win, Calum Osborne, Deputy Chief Executive Officer was full of praise, “I am thrilled that the Trust has been recognised for our continued hard work and commitment to our community,” said Calum.
“As a Trust, we always put others first and this award win comes at a time when people in our community need support more than ever and we’re here to serve those people. I am immensely proud of the team we have at the Trust, who’s continued dedication and tireless effort has been a massive contributor to this achievement” added Calum.
Scott Knowles, Chamber Chief Executive said:
“The past few years have been challenging for our business community, and yet we continue to see so many shining examples of business success across our region. It’s always important to celebrate these achievements and shout about the great things happening right here in Nottinghamshire.
“We know it is a fantastic place to do business and these organisations – many of which have worked together to maximise their impact within their sectors and communities – are doing a wonderful job.”
