Updated – Nottingham: Investigation underway after city stabbing – victim critically injured

A teenager is in critical condition after a stabbing in Nottingham city centre.

Updated: The cordon was lifted at around 1 pm but many shops around the area have remained closed to customers.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries. A cordon is currently in place, and tram services are affected as they cannot pass through the area.

Officers responded to reports of an attack on High Street shortly after 4am this morning (Sunday).

Chief Inspector Iain Blackstock of Nottinghamshire Police said: “This incident has left a young person in hospital with a stab wound to the chest. Our investigation is in the early stages, and we are working tirelessly to understand exactly what occurred.

“We are gathering evidence at the scene and would like to speak with any witnesses who have not yet come forward. If you witnessed the attack or noticed anything suspicious before or after the incident, please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident 90 of 17 November 2024. Reports can also be made anonymously via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
