Nottingham man charged in county lines drug operation

A man has been charged with drugs offences as part of an operation to dismantle an alleged county lines gang.

Officers from Derbyshire Police’s Pro-Active Unit went to a house in Brookhill Drive, Nottingham on Monday 20 January.

They arrested Jaswant Padda at the house on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin.

Substances, thought to be class A drugs, were recovered at the house and have been seized for testing.

This was the latest arrest in an operation which has seen four men arrested in Derby and one in Swadlincote since October.

Mr Padda (38) was later charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, possessing crack cocaine with the intent to supply and possessing criminal property.

He appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 22 January and was remanded into custody to appear at Derby Crown Court today ( 28 Jan ).
