Following a collision on the A46, police are sadly in a position to update that a man has died.
Lincolnshire Police said:
‘He was aged in his 70s and from Nottingham.
‘This was a single vehicle collision involving a motorbike. We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision who has not yet spoken to police. Please get in touch with our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) via 101 or email
‘SCIUinvestigators@lincs.police.uk quoting incident 293 of 20 April. Following scene investigations, the A46 was reopened this morning (21 April) shortly after midnight.’
Original release, 20 April: We are on scene at a serious collision on the A46 close to Witham St Hughs. The road is also closed in both directions between Pennels and the Halfway House roundabouts at Witham St Hughs, and we expect the closures to be in place until at least the early hours of the morning. Please avoid the route. Diversions will be put in place by Highways as soon as possible. This is incident 293 reported at 4.50pm, 20 April.
