Nottingham man jailed after theft of garden furniture

One man has been locked up and another is facing jail after they were arrested and charged by detectives investigating a break-in.

Garden furniture and an ornament were stolen during the break-in at an address in Oak Park Close, Bilborough, in the early hours of Wednesday 9 February.

Brothers Roy and Robert Sisson, aged 43 and 33, were arrested on Wednesday.

Both men later admitted to handling stolen goods when they appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court the following day.

Robert was jailed for six weeks and Roy was remanded in custody ahead of his sentencing on 7 April at Nottingham Crown Court.

Both men, of Graylands Road, Bilborough, have multiple previous convictions for similar offences.

Detective Constable Colin Kirkup, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “When people have items taken from them it can be an extremely upsetting experience for – often leaving them to feel less secure in their own homes. That’s why we work so hard to investigate every burglary report we receive, and to reunite people with their belongings. I am pleased this case has now been resolved and both of these men have been brought to justice.”
