Nottingham man jailed for robbery and attempted robbery

A man has been locked up for four years and eight months after threatening to stab a man with an implement during a robbery in Radford.

Usman Azam, 31, of Mickleborough Avenue, Nottingham, was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday 6 March 2019) having pleaded guilty to counts of robbery and attempted robbery.

Azam threatened to stab a man who was sitting in a car, parked off Alfreton Road, on 30 November 2018.

He stole the man’s wedding ring and watch after threatening him with the weapon.

Azam later picked up a brick during the incident but kept this by his side.

He also attempted to rob a second man sitting in the car.
