East Midlands Airport Police say that they ‘used discretion’ and issued a verbal warning.
Police said: “Tonight ( 17 March ) a motorist from Nottingham found to have travelled with other friends – apparently just to photograph planes at East Midlands Airport.
“Discretion used, driver reported for breaching Covid restrictions passengers issued verbal warnings.”
In February a man was fined £200 for the same offence, police said at the time:
‘Another covid fine issued to male from Notts found EMA Airport perimeter gates
‘He stated his reason for visit was that he’d recently got his licence back and wanted to go for a drive.
‘He was also in company with another person not from the same household.’
A West Bridgford couple were ticketed by police for watching planes at East Midlands Airport in February, body cam footage of the incident was released by police.
A man from Rotherham was also fined in February with police saying:
‘Another Covid ticket issued today ( Thursday 11 February ) after finding an aviation enthusiast had travelled to East Midlands Airport from Rotherham to watch planes.’
