Nottingham Road, Clifton to be closed for six weeks from tomorrow to allow for Fairham works – see traffic and bus diversions

South Notts 1 will temporarily change between 17th January 2021 and 28th February 2021 inclusive, whilst Nottingham Road, between Clifton and Gotham is closed for works associated with the new Fairham Development.

Nottingham Road will be closed between Clifton South park and ride site and Gotham from Monday 18/01/21 to Sunday 28/02/21.

Diversions will be in via the A453 and marked by yellow diversion signs. This will be to allow for a new junction to be built for the new neighbourhood at Fairham.

Between Clifton Pastures and Gotham, South Notts 1 buses will divert through Clifton South Park & Ride Site, along the A453 Remembrance Way, West Leake Lane and Kegworth Road in both directions. Buses will not stop on the diversion route.

School children and students who normally catch South Notts 1 at Clifton Pastures (Farnborough Road Top) to/from East Leake Academy and Loughborough Endowed Schools should continue to use their normal bus stop, but will need to catch their bus earlier than usual to reflect the longer diversion route.

A revised timetable will be introduced on all days on South Notts 1 for the period of the road closure, but with general frequencies unchanged.

Associated with the road closure are some minor timetable changes to Navy 48/X on Monday to Saturday evenings and all day on Sundays.

On Grey 53 between Arnold and Clifton via the Ring Road and QMC, an earlier Monday to Friday bus will depart Arnold at 05:10 and depart Clifton at 18:48.
