Motorists across Nottingham are being advised to allow extra time for journeys as a series of roadworks, lane closures and temporary traffic lights continue across the city.
Several new restrictions are due to begin during the week commencing Monday 20 July, alongside longer-term works already under way.
On Monday 20 July, a lane will be closed in Trowell Road at its junction with Wollaton Vale for Severn Trent works. Three-way temporary traffic lights will also be introduced in Farnborough Road, from Swansdowne Drive towards Southchurch Drive, for further Severn Trent work.
Two-way lights will operate in Radford Road between Isandula Road and Silverdale Road from Monday 20 July until Wednesday 29 July to support development works.
Temporary three-way lights will also be used in Johnson Road, between Elmsthorpe Avenue and Dunlop Avenue, from Monday 20 July until Friday 31 July while a new gas connection is installed for a development.
An inbound lane closure will be in place at Canning Circus, outside Canning Terrace and extending to the junction with Wollaton Street, from Tuesday 21 July until Thursday 23 July. The restriction is required for National Grid works.
Four-way temporary traffic lights will operate at the junction of Aspley Lane and Robins Wood Road on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 July for Severn Trent works.
Telecommunications maintenance will require two-way lights in Westbury Road, between Perry Road and Lortas Road, on Friday 24 July.
A lane closure is then planned in Western Boulevard at the junction with Newport Drive over the weekend of Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July, again for Severn Trent work.
From Sunday 26 July until Sunday 9 August, multi-way temporary lights will be installed at the Wilkinson Street junction with Armstrong Way while repairs are carried out to the NET tram tracks.
Further restrictions will begin on Monday 27 July. These include lane closures on Derby Road approaching the Queen’s Medical Centre roundabout and on Wollaton Vale approaching Priory Island. Both are scheduled to remain in place until Thursday 29 July, with the Wollaton Vale restriction required for National Highways works.
Temporary lights will operate in Camberley Road, between Blenheim Lane and Limekiln Court, from Monday 27 July until Friday 7 August for Cadent Gas works.
The southbound bus lane on Mansfield Road, between Goose Fair Island and Forest Road East, will close from Monday 27 July until Friday 14 August for resurfacing.
A lane closure will also be introduced in Ilkeston Road, between Balfour Road and Albert Grove, from Wednesday 29 July until Friday 31 July for National Grid works.
Several existing schemes remain in place. Lindfield Road is closed between Alwyn Road and Shipley Road until Friday 21 August for Severn Trent works, while drainage work is causing lane closures on Nuthall Road between Western Boulevard and Aspley Lane until Saturday 25 July.
Two-way lights remain at the junction of Stonebridge Road and Alfred Street South until Monday 24 August for Cadent Gas works. Parts of Middleton Boulevard between Wollaton Road and Derby Road are also affected by closures for resurfacing until Sunday 2 August.
A lane closure is in place on London Road, between Ryehill Street and Crocus Street, until Friday 14 August for highway improvements. Gas-main replacement work will keep two-way lights in operation on Hoewood Road, between Rock Street and Milford Close, until Friday 2 October.
Other continuing restrictions include a lane closure at the junction of The Wells Road and Hendon Rise until Friday 24 July, and multi-way lights on Bramcote Lane between Wollaton Road and Parkside until Friday 31 July.
A lane closure also remains in place on Queens Bower Road, from Deer Park Drive to beyond Mildenhall Crescent, until Friday 24 July to provide safe access for carriageway resurfacing.
Four-way lights at the junction of St Alban’s Road and Kersall Drive are scheduled to remain until Monday 20 July for National Grid work.
Drivers are advised to check their routes before travelling and allow additional time where temporary traffic management is in operation.
