Detectives are continuing their investigation following a stabbing at a Nottingham school.
Response officers arrived at Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology (NUAST), in Dunkirk Road, Lenton, within minutes following a call at 1.36pm on Thursday (5 March).
A 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a stab wound. His injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening in nature but he remains in hospital.
Another boy, aged 15, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public place.
Both boys attend the same school and the incident is not linked to the recent national ‘School Wars’ social media posts.
A knife believed to have been used as the weapon was recovered.
Detectives are analysing CCTV footage and carrying out further inquiries with the assistance of the school and other partners.
Superintendent Chris Pearson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a shocking incident which has understandably caused concern among parents and the wider community.
“We are supporting the victim’s family and help is being made available to others in the school community affected by the incident.
“Our inquiries continue at pace and we are grateful for the assistance from both the school and those living in this neighbourhood.
“The incident involved two students who attend the school and are known to each other.
“We are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident and it is not linked to the national ‘School Wars’ social media posts published earlier in the week.
